Low-Key Workout Today, Plus Running Shoes

This morning, I rode 8 miles (45:15 minutes) on the recumbent bike at the gym. No biggie, just staying active.

I have been having a challenging time getting new running shoes this week. Stores either don't have my size or have been too far away (AND closed too early) for me to get there on time after work! One response I got yesterday when I asked for a 10.5 in a women's running shoe: "That's big!" Charming.

Gonna try again this evening.

Do you wear a certain shoe that you can look online? I've heard in various podcasts where people buy their shoe online. The only one that comes to mind right now is zappos.com. I bought my last shoes online from Brooks because they were discontinued and on sale.

Thanks for the tip, Christina-I'd forgotten about zappos.com.

I just called one of the stores in Raleigh, discovered they had one left in my size, and they stay open until 8. (Wohoo!) So, I'm gonna give the one-county-over store some busines this time, and get a discount for being a local running club member.

I'll be on the lookout for zappos.com sales though, sounds good!! (I hear they got bought out by amazon.com recently!)

Try 9th Street Active Feet in Durham, NC. I went there a couple weekends ago on a Sunday and they were great! They didn't even blink when I told them I wore a women's 11. And they were able to measure my feet and watch me walk so they knew what kind of shoes I needed for running. They carry several brands and can order more. :0)

Sports Authority is a pretty nice store for all size running shoes. Well, good luck for your new shoes.
