Under the weather

I went for a short walk last Saturday to make three times exercising last week, but haven't worked out at all this week. Boy, can I feel it! I've been trying to get over a cough that has been dragging on and on.

Good workout last night

Last night I went to the gym and did 30 minutes of strength training (back and biceps) with Heather, then did 21 minutes of cardio, split between the elliptical and the treadmill. She wanted me to do 25 minutes, but I opted with my plan to add one minute to each cardio workout.

I must admit, I was rushing a little to get to the store and home in time to see a show I thought was coming on at 8:30, but it was on at 9:30 instead. The show "America's Got Talent" is just a big talent show, and I'm interested in the talents other "normal" people have, and what they do with them. This one little girl, Taylor, was one of two acts that made it to the next round. According to her story, she taught herself how to yodel from an instruction manual and tape. She has an amazing stage presence-confident without being cocky, that I'd wish for my own child.

Weekend walking

Friday evening, I went to the gym and stayed on the elliptical for 18 minutes. (Had leg cramps in the middle of the night, no fun!) Yesterday, George and I went to the outdoor track at Duke Fitness Center, and walked for 20 minutes. Feel good about increasing my cardio, bit by bit.

Under the radar

This week I've been under the exercise radar. :-( The first part of the week, I was active outside, eventhough I wasn't at the gym. This last half of the week, I've been recovering from the first part of the week.

Eventhough being outside felt pretty good (though very hot!), I've missed the gym workouts, and look forward to getting back into the routine.

Weekend workout

Saturday, George and I went to the gym and worked out. I did 17 minutes on the treadmill. Decided to try adding one minute to my cardio each time, and see how that works with increasing my endurance. I'm still walking. At some point, I want to add jogging back into the mix. When should that be? Perhaps when I hit 30 minutes? Or when I can walk a 5K (3.1 miles)? Hmmmm....

Yesterday, George, Steph, and I joined several friends at Emerald Point, a water park in Greensboro. We had a lot of fun there, and I'm a little sore from that.
