Joining the 1000 Mile Club

I dropped my registration for the NCRC's 1000 Mile Club in the mail this morning! I'm going to try to fun 1000 miles in 2008. The Athlete's Foot at Cameron Village is keeping track of it. I need to average 2.74 miles a day to nail the goal. So far in January, things are on track for hitting the mark, and I'm excited about that.

Congratulations on committing to a 1,000 mile goal in 2008. I ran 1,000 miles in 2007 (plus a little bit more!) You just have to run 20 miles a week and you have acheived that goal.

I am contemplating a full marathon this year. I find it to be a daunting task and just cannot commit to it yet. The half-marathon is not that tough. All you have to do is to get some muscle memory going. In season, that means that my long run is 10 miles. Now? My long run is 6 to 6 1/2 miles.

Good luck!

See you on the run!
