Outdoor Run

This morning I got sick and tired of being sick and tired, so I threw on some shorts and a t-shirt, laced up my running shoes, and put on my Garmin Forerunner, determined to do SOMETHING outdoors, even if it was just a mile. I walked some trash to the apartment complex dumpster to warm up, then started running. I did the run/walk combo around the complex, then decided to go across the street to an industrial complex with big parking lots. Not pretty, but pretty easy on the body. I came back to the apartment complex after about 2.75 miles, then decided to make it a 5k. I wanted a training time to beat. I ended up finishing the 3.1 mile run/walk in 47:46, a 15:24 min/mi avg. pace. That stinks, but considering I've been too sick to exercise since Wednesday, maybe not too bad. Actually, maybe I overdid it! But I just HAD to get out. I think I was starting to get cabin fever, since I missed work Thursday and Friday. George was gone yesterday, as he got the chance to do overtime, so I've had a lot of time alone inside the apartment. It felt great to take it outdoors! And now I have an outdoor (non-race) training time to beat. :)

I ended up with 3.61 miles for the week.

As Willy Nelson would say "It's good to be on the road again"
Good job!!!!!
I woke up with a sore throat this morning, but it was from too much laughing and hollering in a drunken stupor last night at "The Dirty Martini"!!!!!!!
