On the Recumbent Bike

This morning, tired and still sniffling, I went to the gym and did 40 minutes (7.02 miles) on the recumbent bike. Mentally, I felt better after exercising, and there's a lot to be said for that! I'm still tired and sniffling, though, but hope I'll turn the corner soon.

Missed Long Run

My cold has gotten a bit worse this morning, so I decided to take it easy at the gym. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical machine, and followed it with 15 minutes on the treadmill. No incline today. No speedwork. I just sucked it up and got some cardio time in. My legs still feel like they have energy in them, like they were expecting a long run today. My face, not so much energy! My nose is clogged up and my eyes feel droopy. Granted, I did go grocery shopping after my workout, all before 11 AM, but I do see a nap in my future!

I wanna be a wuss when I have a cold, but since I'm not coughing, I may try to run the Magnificent Mile tomorrow, since I'm already registered for it. I was hoping to use it as speedwork, but between the cold and projected highs tomorrow close to 95, I think I'll just go out there and run it, have fun, and see how I do.

Short Workout

I did 25 minutes on the elliptical this morning, still feeling sluggish, a little stuffy and sore in the throat.. Perhaps I'll try to get some more exercise in this evening. That's what I did last night--George and I went for a walk after supper. It was different, though, as he kept wanting to take me through the woods around the apartment complex, while I just wanted to a walk in and have some company along the way. The walk was a little more leisurely than I expected, but I still wore my Garmin, and we did 1.11 miles in about 30 minutes, with a stop on the nature trail along the way.

Speaking of George, he came down with a 103 degree fever after we got home from the walk, no fun. He thought he'd try to go into work later today, but I hope he stays home and gets well.

Trying to Get Well

I've exercised the past couple of days, but haven't felt like blogging. The workouts have been shorter than usual and uneventful, just trying to keep the habit going while my body heals from a virus that's moved from my throat to my sinuses. Can't wait to feel normal again!

I returned to physical therapy yesterday, and was sore after that! Glad I've got three more weeks of sessions to go.
