I was looking to shake up my routine this morning, so I warmed up with 5 minutes on the elliptical machine, then climbed on the treadmill for the first time in a while. My right knee (the one I fell on when I broke my nose) started hurting immediately, so I kept it at a slow pace, wondering if I could run through it. It was still hurting six minutes in, so I decided to stop then, after just .4 of a mile (for a 15:02 pace--lovely!). It's a start, but I was hopeful that I could do more. I wonder if I'll be able to do the Cary Road Race 5K on April 12. Yikes, that's eight days away! I don't want to do anything stupid, but it sure would be good for the spirits if I could do it.
(I did get back on the treadmill after that, and did another 35 minutes.)
Any suggestions for my knee, anyone?!

Darn! I was hoping to hear you would have had a great run. I don't have any suggestions for you knee, the only thing I can say is maybe to ice it, especially after working out. Sorry!
Ouch! Just baby the knee as much as you can.
I have run with a knee brace before, but I do it at a very slow pace till the knee heals.
