Rest Day
I decided to take a break from the gym this morning, in hopes of running or walking with my running group this morning. I had a rude awakening a little while later, as I was walking down my apartment stairs to go to work this morning, that made me glad I hadn't gone to the gym! My left IT band hurt walking down the stairs, a sure sign that I need to give it a rest. *Sigh* I think it's time to pull out the one or two yoga books I have, and perhaps look into some yoga videos. I also have a good book on stretching and another on strength training for runners. Time to put some other things into action while my leg heals.

I think this is a great call! I actually just read about this concept again in a magazine, and am thinking about trying more stretching/yoga to work on my flexibility. I already do cross-training, but having the variation besides running will I think do my knees good :0) And I'd love to try water running, which lots of the elites do.
I've wanted to try yoga. You'll have to blog about how it goes.
