Combo Workout
This morning I started with 21 minutes on the elliptical machine for 1.57 miles, then decided to hop on the treadmill. Ended up going 15 minutes without walking (yay!) for 1.23 miles. In Jeff Galloway's book that I'm reading now, it says that it's okay to run your short runs without stopping, but that the long runs need to be the run-walk-run method. It's nice to have part of my weekly running done already. The Galloway plan suggests 60 minutes of running (or RWR) during the week, followed by the weekend long run. I am tempted to work toward running much more during the week, but I know that overtraining can lead to more injuried, and I need to work on crosstraining anyway.

I'm thinkin' I might need to invest in that book? Can I order one online?
Oh I almost forgot?
I'm lovin my inversion table and can't imagine life without it.
It's been great at stretching my back but also my hip flexors, and it seems to help the knees too!
I did a co-post on my other blog Uncivil , and the last video goes into more detail about the benifits of it, but is quite long at 30 minutes.
Yes, Galloway's books (quite a few) are available online. Here's a link to the books on Jeff Galloway's website:

I bet they're available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, maybe even eBay. The one I'm reading now is called Galloway Training Programs, and it's been good so far. I tend to read just a few pages at a time, though, as I've got several books in the works. I think this will be a good reference book.
Interesting. I still haven't quite signed up for the program, but I want to do it. I have been running about 3.75 miles one day a week, and 4.5 the other. I usually take one walk break for a minute during each of those runs. I bet Jeff would not like me at all...
Bill will definitely be at the run this weekend and I plan to be there, too, if I finally sign up!
Susan, I think an 8+ mile base sounds good! Last week was my first week above that (only 9.23 miles running) since mid-February, and that was with the 4-miler on Saturday.
Thanks Lesley
I might invest in Galloways Book on running when I get on a Ebay binge!!!!!LOL!!!
